After the meeting on April 14th, the Prime Minister and National Coordination Committee’s decision for the lockdown to remain intact for another 2 weeks was taken, along with an ease of lockdown measures in the country. The government of Sindh announced the resumption of specific industries and economic activity as long as they strictly kept to the precautionary guidelines to contain the spread of COVID-19.
This decision was confirmed on Tuesday evening; following the NCC’s recommendations, certain industries have been given permission to resume activity. This bar’s public places, restaurants, beauty parlours, religious and social gatherings, public transport -anything not in line with the NCC’s list.
At the meeting of the National Coordination Committee, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that the opening of public institutions would be postponed as lockdown would be implemented for a further two weeks, but for the sake of resuming economic activity, specific industries would have these lockdown restrictions respectively eased.
“I am glad to share that the lockdown only spread 30 percent of what the government had projected because of the way the people observed lockdown in difficult times.”
Various “low risk” industries have been opened following the new announcement, along with the protocol and measures to follow diligently in accordance with containing the spread of the novel coronavirus.
