Asad Umar has once again issued a serious warning to KE over excessive load-shedding.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar, has officially warned K-Electric about their prolonged electricity black outs which have irked residents in Pakistan's financial capital, Karachi.

Asad Umar continued to say,

“The power distributor should fulfill its responsibility otherwise National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will take action against it,” he said.

Subsequently, Sindh Governor, Imran Ismail, disclosed at a meeting that he will be writing a letter to NEPRA, regarding the KE issue. After investigations if KE has been proven to be responsible for over-billing customers, refunds shall take place.

A high level meeting was held in Karachi on July 11 under the chairmanship of Governor Imran Ismail, in which K-Electric and NEPRA officials were also present.
