Trend Watch: Beauty inspiration from the style divas at Cannes 2018

Amongst the powerful socio-political and fashion related statements made at Cannes Film Festival 2018, it’s now time to take a final look at the grand affair for some much-needed summer makeup inspiration!

While Mahira’s old-world glamour look with the red pout and wavy hair remains a classic, there were some unique beauty trends we spotted that could be put to good use this season.

The messy fishtail

All a girl wants during the sizzling summer is to have her hair tied without looking boring! Mahira’s messy braid shows us how the fishtail can be adapted for a formal look too.

The blinged hair

Hair accessories are the perfect adornment to make a simple hairdo look grand! Check out Sonam Kapoor’s hair bling— one would usually wear this to a wedding event but you have to admit it looks quite regal.

The glittery eye

While summer is all about the dewy ‘no-makeup’ look, nighttime events do require some pizzazz and Aishwarya’s glittery liner is the perfect example! While Kristen Stewart’s look incorporates some glittery touches to a smoky eye, Aishwarya’s eye makeup is relatively simple with the exception of that dramatic liner. We approve!

The coloured eyeshadow

Notice how both Joan Smalls and Sonam’s makeup is quite simple, and the focus is on that pop of colour in their eye makeup. Joan’s look has a bright blue winged eyeliner atop a nude eyeshadow, while Sonam has gone all out with a summery yellow eyeshadow!
