The Drive-In Cinema Trend Makes a Comeback

Keeping SOPs and the global pandemic in mind, vintage drive-in cinemas have emerged in Karachi, with movie buffs who crave a cinematic experience being able to enjoy the cultural trend which was quite popular in its day!

In Karachi, near Avari Towers, the cinema has opened up at the Village Restaurant. Able to sit in the car, be served food and watch movies from the comfort of your own car, with friends or family. Back in the day, the city was famous for its drive-in cinema culture, these cinemas were located in various areas of K-town, including Shirin in Korangi and Kismet in Saddar.

The Village Restaurant will be keeping all SOP measures in mind to ensure a positive and safe experience, with some super tasty barbeque on the side! The drive-in cinema is open five days a week, from Monday to Friday. The timings are 5 pm to 10 pm and it even plays old, classic movies like 'Charlie Chaplin' and the '3 Stooges', coming in strong with the warm and fuzzy nostalgia.

A wonderful substitute for cinemas which will not be opening anytime soon due to coronavirus, where people can enjoy a memorable vintage experience in the new normal!
