Pakistan's Covid-19 Positivity Rate Rises by 2.58%

On October 21st it was announced that Pakistan's coronavirus rate has reached its highest in two months, spiking by 2.58%.

According to the official tally on Wednesday, out of the 28,534 tests sampled, 736 came tested positive. Prime Minister Imran Khan and politicians such as Asad Umar, Dr. Faisal Sultan and other politicians have expressed concern over the rising ratio, stressing on the implication of proper SOPs to counter the pandemic, although it is still below the WHO's 5% threshold.

Over the previous 3 days, the deaths been reported have been in the double digits, a far cry from the single numbers reported in September, when the case toll largely decreased. Currently, the total coronavirus cases in Pakistan ranks at 324,744.
