PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week 2015 is on its way so we decided to give you guys a Flashback Fashion Week – PLBW14 where we will be showing you our top 3 favorite collections for each of the 3 days of PLBW2014.
‘Ara-Ornaments’ by Sania Maskatiya was inspired by the art of ornamentation and featured decorative motifs and techniques from the past. We personally liked Sania’s incorporation of whites with the florals with the Indian nets and pearls.
This collection was named after Shakespeare’s play; “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Saira and Shakira’s collection mostly had lehngas, kaftans and saris embellished with a mixture of thread work, beading and Swarovski crystals.
Designed by Maheen Kardar, the Lotus Raj Collection was a mix of pinks, red, silvers and blues inspired by the customs and traditions of the Subcontinent.
Her debut collection for PLBW2014 stood out the most for us because of the ellaborated embroidery and stone work with contemporary cuts and silhouettes.
We love how Shamaeel kept her collection very traditional by incorporating reds and golds for the Baraat and white pieces for the Nikkah events.
Reminding us of the Peshawari and Afghani traditional outfits and jewelery, Zara Shahjahan’s PLBW2014 collection had a lot of dabka and stone work which we love.
Named after the most renowned poet of the Subcontinent; Mirza Ghalib, The Ghalib Collection is a mix of blue, navy blue, teal, grey and shades of light pink on fabrics such as silk, net, tissue and brocade.
Inspired by nature and flowers, Nomi Ansari’s Gul collection is a combination of traditional and contemporary cuts. How can we forget Mehwish Hayat and Mawra Hocane’s grand sentence as the show stoppers.
With a mix of satin, cotton net, tissue, machine work and oxidized kora Sana Safinaz collections has made it to our top 3 designer list for the finale of PFDC L’Oreal Bridal Week 2014.
