Pepsi Pakistan has launched their annual Liter of Light campaign for the third time this year with the initiative of #EyesClosedForLight. The digital campaign #EyesClosedForLight was supported by many celebrities all over Pakistan and they participated in it by posting a picture of themselves with their eyes closed. The reason for this was that every closed eye picture posted with the hashtag Pepsi would help light up one life in turn. Here is our contribution:
Amongst many celebrities like Fawad Khan, Mawra Hocane, Ayesha Omer, Sajal Aly, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas, Mehreen Syed, Mehwish Hayat, Shahbaz Taseer, Osman Khalid Butt, Aiman Khan and many more came together to support this initiative. Further with the Liter of Light campaign, Pepsi aims to help raise awareness and support in the ongoing electricity crises in Pakistan.
Since the beginning of Ramadan, Pepsi has started the campaign of installing lights with the target to impact at least 30,000 lives or more. Over the years through this campaign Pepsi has not only helped in changing the lives of millions of people in Pakistan but has also put in vigorous effort to provide lights in off grid areas all over. To this day Pepsi has successfully covered 40 plus villages in Pakistan by bringing them out of darkness. So far Pepsi has installed a number of street and portable lights in the areas surrounding KPK, Gilgit Baltistan, Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab.
Pepsi further held a book launch for “Stories of Light”, which captures powerful portraits and pictures of impactees from the Pepsi Liter of Light program over the years. This book gives a glimpse into the real transformation the campaign has made over the years in the lives of many people living in off-grid areas. The event that took place at the Ejaz Art Gallery in Lahore provided everyone with great details about how the whole idea of providing light of off grid areas work. The illustration of various beautiful pictures of people whose life Pepsi has helped to change were displayed with alittle story behind each image that showed how dreadful darkness is. Stars like Cybil Choudhry, Mira Sethi, Mehwish Hayat, Mehreen Syed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Adnan Siddiqi, Amna Babar and Munib Nawaz were also present to fully support Pepsi with this great cause.
