Earlier this year legendary shoe designer Christian Louboutin visited Lahore and apparently the historical Pakistani city made quite an impression. The brand has introduced a collection of dainty little flats named after the city on its website urging customers to “follow in the footsteps of Lahore.”

Available in three different styles, it is unclear exactly what element of Lahore these red soled pop art flats are channeling.

Follow in the footsteps of Lahore.

Fashionistas should read the description of the shoe before they make a beeline to purchase the $700 (Rs73,716) footwear – it seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. The site description reads:

Lahore Flat features a gorgeous scarf feature that wraps around the leg and ties abundantly behind the ankle. Inspired by Christian’s visit to a famous scarf designer in Venice, the crepe de Chine wrap adds a sensuous texture to this black patent leather flat.

So, is the shoe inspired by Lahore or Venice? Dedicated shoe-lovers of Lahore may not care but we will be wondering.
