As humans, we often complain about our day not going very well without realising that every action has a consequence – hence the cause behind this is our reaction to the situation that isn’t working out for us. Let us tell you that it is completely normal and we all go through this. It is highly imperative to understand that having a good or bad day can have an impact on your mental health, your skin and energy levels.
We are going to draw attention to some useful habits to adapt to your life in order to improve the quality of your day:
Pre-deciding what to wear the next day & showering/styling your hair the night before can help you save some precious morning moments which you can utilise in so many other ways! We could always use some extra minutes of sleep, go out for a walk or anything else that we wish to do. As long as we don’t have to spend our mornings rushing and stressing over things that can be taken care of the night before.
We can’t emphasise enough on the importance of sleep. It’s known to improve our concentration and productivity levels, helping maximise performance every step of the way. Good sleep can also keep our emotions and vulnerability in check. Make sure to catch 6-8 hours of Z’s every night. Avoiding caffeine and switching off our smartphones at least 30 minutes before bedtime will enhance the quality of a good nights sleep.
Roughly, 60% of our body is composed of water, and lack of water can lead to dehydration. Dehydration can be a root cause of many problems in a human body and water is the ultimate solution to all that and more. Make sure to consume plenty of H2O throughout the day especially when you wake up (focusing on healthy glowing skin and washing the toxins out of your body will help!) and before every meal to avoid overeating.
The most important meal of the day – Breakfast! Make this meal a priority. A big hearty breakfast will help you kick-start your day as well as your metabolism, it will keep your focus intact and provide the energy that you need for the rest of your day! If you’re an early riser, you could even squeeze in 2 breakfasts to make the most of that active morning metabolism! Granola, eggs and toast, pancakes, waffles and avocado on toast are some of our favourite picks.
Get planning!!! Writing down your plans for tomorrow and deciding chores ahead of time will help you make the most of your time and you’ll realise that you got more done in less time. Planning your day beforehand means you can choose to decorate it however you like. Other than the mandatory on goings, ie, work!
Pray, meditate, read a book, pamper yourself! In other words ME TIME is oh so important! So make sure to schedule in some time for yourself at least once a day, everyday for the sake of your own peace of mind.
Big lunches, biryani, burgers, pizzas and pastas are great options for lunch but let’s pay attention to some facts. Our body requires a ton of energy to digest food. That means, eating more at lunch would require our system to allocate more blood to our gut in order to ingest the food that we just ate, and this process leaves very less blood for the rest of our body which often leaves us feeling fatigued, commonly know as the “post-lunch food coma”, we recommend you to keep it light or make your meal portions small in order to keep those energy levels up!
Any sort of daily physical activity is crucial, beneficial and enriching for your mind, body and soul. Physical activity can be anything that gets your heart rate going. A few minutes of cardio, weight or strength training can do you plenty good. It improves your posture, fight off illnesses better, improves mental alertness, strengthen muscles and bones, reduce any chances of depression and anxiety, help relax and sleep better and is great for self confidence. You can opt to walk, jog, run, cycle, swim, yoga, pilates or any one of countless options that are available to us to choose from.
Making time for family & friends! Finding ways to improve someone else’s day and to have something to nurture or anything else that will make you happy and help you unwind after a long tiring day! If anything bothers you, find someone you trust and talk about your feelings rather than locking them away no matter how big or small the matter may be. You are important.
Early dinner is ideal! Grabbing an early dinner is known to be beneficial for weight loss. It will grant your body enough time to digest the food that you have consumed prior which will work wonders for your sleep cycle.
These healthy habits will most certainly bring a positive change in your life and health. Here’s to a better you!
