In the hundred crore defamation case filed against Meesha Shafi by singer actor Ali Zafar, the case is adjourned to 17th of January on the request of Meesha’s counsel for producing their witnesses for evidence, however no witness appeared on 7th January.

Earlier Shafi was summoned thrice to appear before the court for her cross examination and production of remaining witnesses. On said dates Meesha’s counsel requested adjournment on the account of lawyers strike despite the fact that on each date the case was adjourned to the date of their choice.

Ali Zafar’s legal team was present in the court on all hearing to proceed with the matter.

The honourable judge granted adjournment thrice and summoned Shafi’s witnesses on the 7th of January, however her lawyer Saqib Jillani once again sought adjournment.

It's important to note that the honourable High Court Lahore had already dismissed Shafi’s case against Zafar.

Zafar is now seeking damages for loss of reputation and mental trauma caused by false and frivolous allegations of harassment tweeted by Shafi on 19th April 2018. Zafar has reportedly also filed a criminal case in the FIA with evidence of a conspiracy against him.
