Covid 19 has taken over the world like a storm of fear but also - togetherness!
Last week we covered Asim Jofa's efforts to aid the fashion industry and this week we have even more brands in Pakistan stepping up to help, namely, Deepak Perwani, Ethnic, Maheen Khan and Sapphire.
In fact, Maheen Khan took to Twitter to give her team a shout out, by name - which we rarely see designers do, for working on donating 300 masks to Indus Hospital, with more in production.
She also took to her Twitter, again, to thank the team of Sapphire for donating fabric for these masks!
Sapphire took to Instagram to announce they would be donating protective kits to healthcare professionals which was a comfort after the outrage of shortage of any protective gear in some hospitals around the country.
Deepak Perwani was the second designer after Asim, who designed and prepared prototypes of protective bodysuits for healthcare professionals. "These prototypes are 'washable, reusable and disposable,'" he said.
However big or small, it is really heartwarming to see the efforts our fashion industry is making in order to aid help keep the professionals handling cases of Covid 19, safe. We applaud and commend them and hope to se more design houses come forward and help!
