Faisal Edhi, the head of the Edhi foundation, one of the largest charity organisations in Pakistan, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus as his son, Saad Edhi, has reported that his father has immediately taken to self-isolation and remains in constant contact with his doctor.

The philanthropist, in Islamabad currently, insisted on being tested after working with patients, his family and whoever has been in touch with him will undergo testing as well. A week earlier, Faisal Edhi went to Lahore to meet the Prime Minister and donate Rs. 10 million on behalf of the organisation for PM Imran Khan’s Coronavirus Relief Fund.

There has been no comment made as of yet about the Prime Minister’s decision or statement, as his focal person, Dr. Sultan, has reportedly made recommendations.
