The Jumeirah Group who run Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Burj Al Arab among others, has taken the initiative of halting operations at a number of the hotels and residencies, including Jumeriah Emirates Tower which has been closed for the summer.

According to protocol under the Dubai Department of Economic Development, a notice on the hotel website stated:

Following the direction of the Dubai Department of Economic Development and as part of our commitment to the health and safety of our guests and employees, we have temporarily suspended operations at Wild Wadi Waterpark™, kids clubs, spas, fitness centres, pools, club lounges and bars in our hotels until further notice. The situation will be continually re-evaluated with the authorities.

Following safety measures with precision and implementing the necessary standard operating procedures, Jumeirah Group CEO, José Silva, has officially announced,

"Our hotels and resorts are committed to delivering service beyond expectations, and ensuring you are provided with as much comfort as possible in these circumstances. The ongoing situation will be continually re-evaluated, and we look forward to welcoming you to our hotels soon."

It has not been confirmed when the hotel will be re-opening, but there are alleged statements that it could possibly be during the period of October to December 2021.
