Malala Yousafzai is both an advocate for young girls' education around the world as well as being an Oxford Graduate and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. Recently, on behalf of her fundraiser organisation, Malala joined social media streaming app 'TikTok' to improve future opportunities for young girls everywhere.
On 'Giving Tuesday', Malala has requested people to donate to the 'Malala Fund' in order to provide girls safe, free and quality education, in return she has stated that she will answer the questions sent in for her. The young Pakistani Activist has used the streaming platform to encourage people to support a just cause, a fresh take and different perspective of the common assumptions made about TikTok due to its turbulent past in the country.
Within a day, Malala has managed to get around 80K likes on her video, with the donation ranging from $25-250 for people across the globe to help out with their generosity. The app being used for a noble cause makes the news of her joining more interesting, as it shows that there can be a positive impact which comes from something widely used around the world, with has negative associations.
We have yet to see what comes from Malala's TikTok venture and her fundraiser - stay tuned for updates!
