WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging applications worldwide has recently announced its new privacy policy following up its partnership with Facebook.
Users were outraged following the announcements due to the alleged breach of privacy that would arise if WhatsApp’s information was shared with the social networking app (Facebook). After much talk about how this new update, said to take place on February 8th, 2021, WhatsApp has taken to Twitter to clarify any speculations about what the update means for users.
In addition to stating that the application will not be sharing private messages or conversations with Facebook, the App has also disclosed a list of things that will not be shared with the networking service, including contacts, call logs, group chats and your location.
Although a lot of laughter has come out of this jarring announcement, not only has WhatsApp cleared any worries but the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry, stated that Pakistan needs to strengthen its privacy policy following the update, on Sunday.
