The Yeh Dil Mera actress is set to star in Jemima Goldsmith's romantic comedy titled What's Love Got To Do With It, being currently filmed in London. Jemima is said to be collaborating with the Oscar winning filmmaker, Shehkar Kapur, who directed Elizabeth: The Golden Age in 2008.
According to BBC Media reporter, Haroon Rashid, the rom-com has begun filming and will also be starring Shabana Azmi, Shazad Latif, Emma Thompson and Lilly James. The feature produced by Prime Minister Imran Khan's ex wife will be a cross-cultural romance, said to be inspired by Goldsmith's marriage to the Premier, according to reports by the Daily Mail. The project will have backdrops set in both London as well as South Asia.
Speaking to Variety earlier, Shehkar Kapur had disclosed that the film is about identities and culture clashes relating to that, when people from different backgrounds come together. The alleged undertone of how people adopt identities may be highlighted in the romcom as well.
Since the news came, fans have been ecstatic after hearing that the Mom star, Sajal Aly, will be making her international debut, sharing the screen with highly esteemed actors from across the globe for this exciting new project!
