Tricks, treats and so much more!

What makes October possibly the greatest month in the calendar (yes, sorry to disappoint the diehard summer fans) is not only the fact that it means fall time has arrived, but it's also the month of Halloween! Put both the fall and spooky season vibe together and what do you get? The Green Bean Farmers Market’s Falloween event this Sunday - from 9 am to 3 pm at Village Restaurant.

Farmers markets are a great way for locals to both display and shop for local products, made by artisans working from home with their own hands and skill. What you will find at a farmers market such as Green Bean, is a more organic, environment friendly and authentic line of products. All of which makes for a happy, thoughtful shopper. So then what will you be able to find and do at this particular market, find out below!

What to Do?

For children between 0-5 and then from 6-10, there is a costume contest where the winners can receive amazing prizes. So make sure you bring the little ones in cool and wacky costumes and don’t miss out on the costume parade at 12:30 pm right before the announcement of winners.

You can also have them take part in the trick or treat special at Noon and have your own adult version of that while rummaging the White Elephant shop for old books, pre-loved clothes, shoes, homeware and so much more.

For the older kids, young adults and well-- the adults themselves again, you can ask for some guidance, a little bit of divination and just a sneak peek into what lies ahead from One of Karachi's most sought after tarot card readers, Suzan, who will be at the Falloween market!

What to Buy

Of course while you wait for the tots to compete with their costumes, you should check out the product stalls which will feature:

The most adorable soaps and candles from Fanpaare!

Lovable and fancy stationery and art supplies for all ages from Paperoom

And our personal favourite, Pixie Dew, will be selling gorgeous spooky jewellery with skulls and grunge colours, alongside witchy and fairy-like pieces that embody creativity and are all hand made!

If traditional jewellery is more your thing, then don't miss out on the jhumkis by GlamourzHub. And the prices are to die for!

What To Eat

Finally grab a bite to eat with Mama's Kitchen with Faiqa Faisal and her super cheesy nachos and other sweet treats, all which will be available.

And in case that is all a little too decadent for you at the time, you can also source healthy, homemade treats from Anjum's. Just look at those tasty scones ready to be devoured!

But what's a Sunday without more sweet treats to take you through the day. We have our heart set on the range of brownies and cake slices by Kaam's Baked Goodness.

Most importantly, the city's best desi brunch - Village Restaurant -c will be serving fresh halwa puri, paya, nihari, parathas and so much more right there. Our recommendation is the chick qeema!

What Else?

The Green Beam Farmers' Market is a pet friendly space, so bring your furry friends. And while you're at it pick up a nice outfit for your fur baby and some all-natural tick spray by Millie's Pet Spot.

Flora Z will be bringing some all natural insect repellants, sanitizers, disinfectant sprays and pain relief oils. So essential these days!

Here's a few tips we always follow when going to a market:

Always wear a mask! Bring your own water bottle. Bring a bag to carry your shopping and some boxes to carry your baked good stash.

The Falloween edition of The Green Bean Farmers' Market is on Sunday 31st October 2021, from 9 am to 3 pm at Village Restaurant (opposite Avari), Karachi.
