Karachi se Lahore

Yet another stepping stone in the revival of Pakistani film industry; Karachi se Lahore is a feature film by Showcase Productions, expected to release on 31st July 2015 by IMGC Global.

Our expectations are slowly building up after Ho Mann Jahan, Good Morning Karachi & Jalaibee, hopefully this will not put a damper on them. Karachi se lahore is a native version of road trip movies and has been shot in various parts of Pakistan including Karachi, Hyderabad, Balochistan, Lahore & Jhelum.

The cast of the film encompasses several established as well as new artists such as Javed Sheikh, Ayesha Omar, Rashid Naz, Shehzad Sheikh, Eshita Syed, Ahmed Ali, Aashir Wajahat, Mantahaa Tareen Maqsood and Yasir Hussain – who also happens to be the script writer.

“Karachi se Lahore is a romantic comedy, a home-grown Pakistani road trip movie about a group of five people travelling from Karachi to Lahore for a specific purpose,” says the Producer & Director – Wajahat Rauf “They go through this roller-coaster journey to get to their destination and end up finding themselves in the process.” he further added.

The recent trend of item numbers in Pakistani movies doesn’t surprise us one bit and it was all but understood that this film will contain one such salacious song as well. Ayesha Omar will be joining the ranks of Humaima Mallick, Mehwish Hayat & Zhalay Sarhadi, let’s just hope the item number doesn’t turn out as wretched as the one did by Zhalay in Jalaibee.
