What goes on behind the stage at fashion shows?
If you’re in the fashion industry, are even remotely related to the fraternity or if you have any know how of the fashion weeks, you can imagine what a mad house it must be backstage at the shows.
Models, make-up artists, hairdressers, stylists, designers, photographers, PR people and even journalists fill the backstage area, how anyone manages to get their job done is a question to ponder upon.
Here is an exclusive sneak peak behind the stage at TFPW15 to see what really happens and what it takes to put on a fashion week together:
1. Models & Stylists start arriving.
This is the good part, when you see excited faces and happy souls.
2. The looks are meticulously crafted.
There’s face charts for each designer’s showcase that define exactly how the models should look.
3. The makeup artists & stylists begin their job.
Which is a hands on deck job when you have 16 or more models for each showcase.
4. Sometimes the makeup is just not right / good enough / a little off.
In which case, the model steps in to add the finishing touches herself.
There are no glamorous makeup rooms, or spacious dressing rooms, or any room for anything for that matter, so if you want to rest your tushy, a 2 feet empty space on the floor will have to do. Yes, they are everywhere. You will probably find one hidden behind the dress rack trying to get the perfect detailed shot of the designer’s collection. Mirror mirror, on the wall. Who is the prettiest model of them all? Once they are done checking themselves out in the mirrors of course. They also line up for a customary group photo with the designer post-showcase. Rest assured there is a cup (or two) of coffee in the mix, or Redbull in this case, which is a dream come true for those caught up in the mayhem. No being is immune to selfies, be it a model, stylist, celebrity or just another fashion maniac. Stay tuned to our Facebook page(click here) for more sneak peaks.5. There’s no room for anything.
6. Yet, there’s a photographer in every nook & cranny.
7. It’s like a maze of mirrors.
8. Models line up for the showcase.
9. There’s means of resuscitation.
10. And last but not the least, lots of selfies are taken.
