PSFW15 summed up! Day 3 – Voile Shows

8th PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week toom place from 18th till 21st of April 2015, and this is a summary of the 3rd day of the 4 day fashion marathon.

The third day of PSFW15 was solely dedicated to textile giants of the industry, as these brands have a high impact on the every day fashion for a Pakistani woman.

Day 3 of PSFW15 summed up as follows:

Gul Ahmed

“A Flourishing Journey of Prints” by Gul Ahmed was a refreshing twist to the lawn giant’s usual output. Flowy silhouettes in vibrant colors and trendy pants in jolly prints is what this collection was all about.

Shubinak

“Pakistan United” was an eco-savvy collection by the brand, every ensemble and accessory showcased on the ramp was made of organic and local materials from various regions of the country. The color palette was in line with the theme and employed use of natural tones and earthy hues.

Warda Prints

“Chromatic Ecstasy” was a kaleidoscopic blend of firm colors, detailed patterns and classical paisley prints. Taking inspiration from the Medieval era, the collection palette consisted of olive greens, cobalt blues, salmon pinks, tangerine oranges and rustic browns. The cuts however, seemed quite impractical, keeping in mind that this is a textile showcase.

Alkaram Studio

“Savior Vivre” collection by Alkaram Studio was predominantly white, leaving aside a few select pieces that made use of prints, as many other showcases at PSFW15.

Harmony by Hang Ten

“Summer Rhythm” by Harmony was a parade of men’s kurtas in numerous bright and bold colors, after which the showcase transitioned into muted ensembles for women.

House of Ittehad

“The Summer Rouge” collection was designed by one of the biggest names in the industry; HSY. The collection was a fine balance between bright and soothing color palettes, with contemporary cuts and unconventional silhouettes, House of Ittehad managed to stand out from the crowd. Not to mention the flowery props which added that much need oomph factor to the showcase.
