Let’s begin the round up of PFWDoha Day 1:
Deepak Perwani
“New Vintage” collection by Deepak Perwani was also recently showcased in Karachi by the name of “La Dolce Vita” at TFPW15 (Click here to read more). To be honest, the original title of the collection was much more in line with the sassy silhouettes in jewel toned luxe fabrics.
Rating: 9 out of 10
What we loved: Everything | What we hated: Nada
Our favorite looks from the New Vintage collection are as follows:
PH Design
Not entirely sure what to make of this collection by Abeer of PH Design.
Rating: 3 out of 10
What we loved: Nada! | What we hated: The gaudy colors, materials, cuts, and basically everything about the collection.
Here is a preview of the collection:
Tasneem Sadaf – Glamorous Designs
The usual traditional eastern wear.
Rating: 4 out of 10
What we loved: You can’t fall in love with something you’ve seen all your life. | What we hated: The sad attempt at adding frills to a eastern silhouette.
Here is a preview of the collection:
Maria Rao
“Mariposa” collection is made of polka dots, embroidered butterflies and embellished florals and was one of the collections that didn’t disappoint. A little less monotony would have made it even better but we believe she nailed it regardless.
Rating: 7 out of 10
What we loved: Shiny butterflies! Need we say more? | What we hated: Couldn’t find anything to hate.
Our favorite looks from the Mariposa collection are as follows:
Ishtiaq Afzal
The new bridal collection by Ishtiaq Afzal didn’t do much to stand out from the heaps of bridal lines out there. Nothing like a flimsy bridal collection to put a damper on the runway.
Rating: 5 out of 10
What we loved: Not much to love in there. | What we hated: The horrendous fits of the outfits.
Here is a preview of the collection:
Samina Shajani
Tops, jumpsuits, sarees, shalwar kameez, all on the ramp at the same time? Let’s just say it was one hell of a confused collection.
Rating: 4 out of 10
What we loved: The top-come-cape. | What we hated: The rest of the collection.
Here is a preview of the collection:
High Street by Saima Asim
“Midnight Allure” collection was showcased by High Street, which consisted of white, beige, gold and black ensembles in modernized eastern silhouettes.
Rating: 4 out of 10
What we loved: The simple yet luxe feel. | What we hated: Nothing stood out.
Here is a preview of the collection:
Emraan Rajput
“Beend” by Emraan Rajput is not for the faint hearted! Consisting of heavily embroidered waist coats and silk shalwars, not entirely sure if anyone wants to be seen wearing some of the outfits.
Rating: 5 out of 10
What we loved: Imran Abbas!!! | What we hated: Too much embroidery.
Here is a preview of the Beend collection:
Ali Xeeshan
Ali Xeeshan did what he does best with his Signature Collection that was a kaleidoscope of colors, patterns, embellishments and a whole lot of flavor. Which once again reminded us of how much he was missed at PSFW15 (Click here to read more).
Rating: 8 out of 10
What we loved: Everything | What we hated: Nada
Our favorite looks from the Signature Ali Xeeshan collection are as follows:
