Trends as seen at FPW16

We saw some oh-so-lovely trends on the ramp of Fashion Pakistan Week 2016 and some not so great ones too. Here’s a round up of all the looks that we love:

Back To The Roots

Can’t say we didn’t like the fact that “Shalwars” are back in trend! The summer season and these tulip / dhoti style lowers work well together, so you don’t have to worry about slim fit trousers any more. Printed, paisley or self-print, shalwars look good in any shape or form as Gulabo by Maheen Khan, Alkaram Studio and Generation proved so.

The “IT” Coats

We never mind a chic coat, let alone one that can instantly up our game. The summer season calls for this reversible neon coat by Deepak Perwani, while you can switch to WardhaSaleem’s digitally printed coat for the night. If the occasion requires you to be a little dressier, then head over to Shamaeel Ansari and grab one of these exquisitely embroidered pieces.

Peek a Belly

Summer season means it’s time to flaunt your bod. These looks from AamnaAqeel, Generation and Natasha Kamal, which showcase the right amount of your belly here and there are the perfect reason to hit the gym and tone up if you haven’t already.

Super Girl Capes

We’ve fallen a little bit in love with the capes trend after looking at these

oh-so-stylish pieces. So much to choose from; evening gown cape by Ayesha FarooqHashwani, one shouldered cape by Deepak Perwani or the summery-flowy cape by ZainabChottani, we’ll take them all, thank you.

Wear All The White

White is relaxing, calm and cool. As a matter of fact, there’s nothing cooler than a head to toe white look on a hot summer day; be it the shalwarkameez from Gulabo by Maheen Khan, asymmetrical embroidered top paired with straight pants by Gul Ahmed or a short dress by Zaheer Abbas.

Oh So Sheer

Sheer fabrics are all the rage and rightly so! Breathable clothing trend has been picking up lately and is a welcome sight in these hot days. We’re doting on these sheer tops and wraps by Zainab Salman, NidaAzwer and Lala Textiles.

Dare To Bare

If you are the kind of gal who enjoys wearing short hemlines, then you would definitely love this tropical print knee length dress by MaheenKarim or this feminine asymmetrical hemline piece from Zainab Salman. Or if you want to look like a walking snowflake then opt for Sonya Battla’s recent collection, no seriously, ditch the hairpiece though.

Hand Me Those Pants

Printed pants and fashion are an endless love affair and this Fashion Pakistan Week was no exception. We demand to be handed those digitally printed trousers by SanamChaudhri as well as those floral capri pants by Zainab Salman& these bell trousers by Shamaeel Ansari.
