FESTIVE KEY COLOR REPORT S / S’16

FROST WHITE

Balance and purity, is the definition of white. If you’re into this color you know the independence and neutrality it brings to your life. ZainabChottani and MansoorAkram showcased the ultimate power of white in their recent collections and have finally brought this color into Pakistani festive culture.

LIQUID SILVER

Mod and hi-tech silver hues exude a feminine energy rivaling other softer colors on the spectrum. Associated with the mood Goddess, this color enhances your aura by bringing it to the light. Saadia Mirza made use of the color in it’s natural form, while Tabassum Mughal and MansoorAkram played threw in complementing colors to complete the look. 

RAVEN BLACK

The hidden and the secretive; black creates an air of mystery. The desi alternative to the Little Black Dress is an overall effect, which can be worn all in itself like Sonya Battla’s or can be accentuated with embroidery like Yasmin Zaman, to stand out while embracing black you can go the kitsch route as showcased by Rang Ja.

MOCHA BROWN

The earthy yet reticent browns are not everyone’s cup of tea, well it’s not tea at all, it’s actually more like mocha. While you may opt for it once in a while, you need to be completely at ease with yourself to be a brown lover. Uzma Babar and Mohsin Naveed Ranjha showcased some not so conventional ways of adorning brown.

BLOOD RED

Red is the powerhouse of the spectrum; it radiates sexuality and aggression at the same time. People who wear red are often thought to be ambitious and strong willed, however, it’s often not easy to carry a blood red look, but worry no more, take the cues from Fahad Hussayn, Yasmin Zaman and Tabassum Mughal.

ROSE QUARTZ

Rose Quartz with it’s gentle pink essence is as tender as it is nourishing. Declared as Pantone Color of the Year 2016, this was destined to top the fashion charts. Opulent flowy garments in this hue should be on your hit list this festive season as showcased by Erum Khan and Zainab Chottani. You can also pair it with other neutral hues as Saadia Mirza did.

SALMON PEACH

This rejuvenating shade of peach uplifts your mood and life in general. So if you’re looking to have a good time and have people talking about your look for days to come, opt for this color. Tabassum Mughal, Saadia Mirza and Asifa & Nabeel showcased various ways to add peach to your festive wardrobe.

EMPIRE GOLD

A golden wardrobe is as luxurious as it gets. If you believe in extravagance combined with sophistication then this should be your go to color for the festive season. Asifa & Nabeel and Yasmin Zaman showcased the more contemporary approach, while Uzma Babar struck a chord with the lovers of old school fashion.
