10 fabulously OTT looks from the Met Gala 2018
Hosted by Rihanna, Amal Clooney, Donatella Versace, Anna Wintour, and Stephen and Christine Schwarzman, the Met Gala last night drew in the who’s who from the world of fashion and art alike. Dressed in their “Sunday best” to celebrate the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,’ curated by Andrew Bolton, there was all kinds of drama and costumery taking place at the grand red carpet.
Here’s a look at some of the celebrities and their dramatic outfits from the event.
Sarah Jessica Parker
Complete with a headpiece, SJP’s lavish Dolce & Gabbana number was a head-turner!
Katy Perry
If you wondered how the musician managed to sit with those wings, here’s a demonstration! Theatrical or what?
Cara Delevingne
Cara’s caged Christian Dior number and veil makes a statement of its own!
Lena Waithe
Making a political statement, the award winning actress/producer/screenwriter wore a suit and LGBTQ pride-flag cape designed by Carolina Herrera.
Rihanna
If Rihanna doesn’t go OTT, is it really a Met Gala? The star is sparkling from head-to-toe in Maison Margiela.
Priyanka Chopra
We agree, it’s not as OTT as the others but Priyanka deserves a special mention for trying. Especially in front of Deepika’s boring choice!
Jared Leto and Lana Del Rey
Representing Gucci on the red carpet, these two went for a Mary and Jesus inspired look.
Blake Lively
This Versace number apparently took 600 hours to make, and Blake Lively looked as ethereal as ever.
Jennifer Lopez
J-Lo’s quintessential Balmain number with a furry trail was another statement-making number.
Cardi B
The star made her Met debut in an elaborate Moschino number, with a crazy headpiece to go with it!
