An Ode To Lipstick On National Lipstick Day!

Long before our time, this was what women opted for for beautification! From nudes and pinks, which made their place in our lives, the lip colour that almost always feigns confidence and strength has always been red.

From Old Hollywood glamazons, to Bollywood sirens, all the way to Royal princesses, this is has been an avid choice, albeit in different shades, there IS a red shade for everyone that suits every single skin tone.

Over the decades we have seen browns, purples, blues and even black shades come up! And to commemorate this wonderful day which celebrates lipstick, we are sharing with you our favourite shades of it on some of our favourite people!

Lipstick actually dates so far back that it is said, Cleopatra used red ochre, a type of clay colored red by iron oxide for her rouge and lips!
