Tête-à-Tête With Dr Rimsha Butt from Dr Tasneem Nakhoda’s Skin Institute
Skin is and always will be in! We’ve given you our favourite beauty and skin care products before – but this time, we went to the experts – namely Dr Rimsha – regarding the most talked about facial that’s taking Karachi by a storm: The HydraFacial!
The HydraFacial is a non-invasive multi-step treatment that unclogs your skin from impurities and dirt leaving it soft, supple and glowing!
Here’s what Dr Rimsha had to say:
Tell us a little about the hydra facial process?
HydraFacial MD is a multi-step procedure which includes cleansing, exfoliation and extraction. This helps clean all the dead skin cells and removes all the debris from clogged pores. HydraFacial also uses a vortex fusion mechanism to exfoliate your skin while infusing it with serums that help keep your skin feeling fresh and glowing! The serums include antioxidants and hyaluronic acid which promotes hydration and elasticity.
Is the process painful?
No, not at all, in fact so many patients end up taking a nap as it is so relaxing!
What are the benefits?
HydraFacial MD removes blackheads, whiteheads, acne and visible pores. It leaves your skin looking fresh, glowing and hydrated. Antioxidants help keep the skin firm, smooth and soft.
Is it for a specific skin type?
It’s great for all skin types, whether you suffer from dry skin, oily skin or acne-prone skin.
How often would we need it?
It depends on your skin type. Hydrafacial MD is usually recommended once a month. However, if you have active acne which is difficult to resolve then it’s a good idea to discuss a more frequent treatment plan with your Dermatologist.
What should clients expect to see after the facial?
Glowing skin! The Hydrafacial MD glow lasts for a week after the procedure. Clients will also notice their skin remains hydrated for a longer period of time and a decrease in acne breakouts!
Any advice you can give our Edition followers on how to keep their skin healthy and glowing?
Staying hydrated is a very easy way to have great skin. Another absolute must is sunscreen whether you are indoors or outdoors! SPF is very important to keep your skin healthy and protected from sun damage.
Apart from the hydrafacial, would you recommend any other specific treatment for let’s say acne – prone skin?
LED Therapy is a great skincare treatment for acne prone skin. It uses different wavelengths of light, including red and blue which can be used to combat acne. In combination with LED Therapy, Gold Toning Laser is an excellent treatment for active acne and inflammation.
Remember you only have ONE body and your skin needs you to be kind to it by taking care of it as you age!
