Edition Remembers: Mother Teresa, The Woman Who Taught The Act Of Love & Giving
Mother Teresa, was born in 1910 on the 27th of this month and died in 1997 was actually named Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu when she came into this world in Skopje, Yugoslavia.
She founded a religious order of nuns in Calcutta, India, called the Missionaries of Charity and spent her life working to help the poor and sick of India. After her, countless have followed in her footsteps, most notably, the late Lady Diana (former Princess of Wales) who even met Mother Teresa and shared a moment, and Queen Rania of Jordan.
A lot of those who aren’t mentioned are the quiet citizens around the world who go by without us knowing acting on these very words – helping, loving, loving, giving – to those who need all of these things, selflessly.
This month, is her birthday month and we decided to pay her a tribute with quotes by her, amidst all the chaos going on in the world. To remember her words, is the kindest tribute to her.
Here are some of our favourites:
If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved.
If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
