Feel Like A New Person With These Simple Tips!
In a life where everything is so fast paced, there’s a rat race to be the best at what you do – at home, at work, in every aspect in life, This leaves one feeling exhausted, tired, done with.
The generation that fought so hard for equal rights, women’s rights, tolerance, free speech and so on and so forth has major phases of exhaustion – and everyone needs to rediscover what its like to have fun once again.
Team Edition is big on being human and feeling like one. Here are some of the things we recommend to have you feel refreshed and light:
Play board games
There is absolutely nothing like the feeling you get when you play board games – you open up, you let yourself go, and you start to have fun and even begin new bonds or renew old ones with friends! Our suggestions? Catan, Sequence, Monopoly Deal, Jenga, Trumps, Scrabble, Pictionary, Taboo (the list is endless, but start with one!) If you need to, learn one together and see how that goes! Trust us, this is so relieving of exhaustion, you feel like a new person – and a happy one, even if you lose the game!
Work out – but not too much
Exercise is like a natural medicine because when you work out, your brain releases chemicals that have anti-depressing effects! There is a fine line between working out for a mental and physical boost and working out to exhaustion and it doesn’t have to be hardcore exercise. You should never feel too exhausted after training – the goal is to be energized. Brisk walk, yoga, pilates or even a HIIT class if that suits you!
Cook or bake for fun (solo or with friends)
There is something about food which brings people together and makes them happy – be it eating it, making it, or both – recently we had a ramen night where we got together to make it from scratgh and then eat it. Yes ramen is a difficult dish but do a simple pasta, a cookout, a BBQ and believe us, the feeling of joy and lack of fatigue sets in like a welcome change – and you’re filled with satisfaction after eating a good meal! If the meal isn’t good, it makes for a fun memory!
Read
Yes we know, you need to mentally alert to read, but who is saying to read a complicated book? Revisit classic even if its Famous Five, Mr Pink Whistle or Sweet Valley! Then move on to something more! Reading opens up your mind and gives it that breath of fresh air which your everyday routine takes away from it. Seriously, give it a shot – you’ll thank us later!
Rethink your diet
What people don’t realise is, you need to eat more, not less because under-eating and over-exercising puts the body into starvation mode, which causes it to reduce its energy output and can lead to feelings of fatigue, restlessness, difficulty concentrating and digestive troubles. Instead of restricting food, it’s important to make sure you are eating enough carbohydrates, protein and fat. Also, eating snacks between meals is important for energy – don’t curb your hunger with caffeine.
Do something you haven’t done before
Go sky diving, take a hot air balloon ride, take a solo trip – say NO to something you don’t want to do. Rid yourself of FOMO if you have it, and if you spend a lot of time lazing about – go out! Give it a shot and see how doing something new brings a fresh burst to you!
