Edition Beauty: Top Makeup and Skincare Picks For February!

Who doesn't love a good beauty haul?! I sure do!

I've picked out our favourite make up and skincare products that you will thank us for investing in - seriously tried and tested, readers!

Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve always been a fan of all the Huda Beauty Eyeshadow palettes so when mercury retrograde was released, I ordered it ASAP. This palette tops her other palettes. Extremely pigmented with gorgeous velvet mattes, creamy metallics, bright glitters and multi- reflective colors, this palette has you covered for every event. The different shades of pinks, the glittery purple and even the pops of turquoise have looked amazing! I have enjoyed using this palette for my night-time events such as Mehndis and dinner parties.

Pat McGrath Labs Lust: Mini Matte Trance Lipstick Trio Skin Show V2

Take my money! All of it! This must be the best lipsticks I have ever tried. Extremely pigmented, moisturizing even though they are matte lipsticks and instantly feel so velvety on application. Coming in 3 different shades of nude-pinks, these lipsticks are the perfect tones and look beautiful for any type of makeup look. Whether you’re ready for a meeting, a lunch or an evening event, these lipsticks will fulfil all those needs. I ordered the minis as I wanted to try out this brand and I am not disappointed!

Laura Mercier Blush in colour Infusion-Chai

I’ve been using the Anastasia Beverly hills and the sephora “flirt it up” blush which are in the orange and peachy tones. So to switch it up I purchased the Laura Mercier Blush which is in a dusky pink tone with warm undertones and has a matte finish so you won’t have “shiny” cheeks. I’m usually more of a bronzy and peachy orange girl when it comes to my blushes and highlighters, but I have enjoyed using this blush as you can build on the colour application for a more darker pink and it does last for at least 6 hours.

Benefit Cosmetics- The Cheekleaders Cheek Palette-Pink

This palette is a delight as it has Benefits full size must have bronzer “Hoola”- one of the best matte bronzers and “Galifornia” blush- a stunning coral colour with hints of shimmering gold. Apart from this it has another blush “Dandelion” that is light baby pink and another one which is called Dallas- a medium pinkish brown colour. Apart from that the palette has a new highlighter called ‘Tickle” which is a shimmering gold with pink undertones. This palette is great for olive/medium skin tones!

Drunk Elephant Rise + Glow Brightening Duo

I’ve been looking at the Drunk Elephant range for some time now and have always hesitated due to the price tag. However, my desire to try out every single skincare brand led to me ordering their minis. So this Duo contains a C-Firma Day serum which works to firm and brighten the skin and defends it from pollution and photoaging. It also has a reservoir effect, meaning this serum will last for about 72 hours. The second serum is a B-Hydra Intensive Hydration serum which is packed with vitamin B and penetrates the skin for optimal hydration. I have been using these two every morning for the last 3 weeks by mixing a pump of each in my hand and then applyingall over the face. I have acne-prone skin and combination skin, usually I feel my skin is de-hydrated. This duo hasreduced my acne since I’ve begun using it and has made it feel brighter and more moisturized.

Drunk Elephant Night Bright Resurfacing Duo

This is a great serum and oil set for over-night use that transforms dull and uneven skin tone and texture and wrinkles. This set contains a TLC Framboos Glycolic night serum that helps exfoliate built up skin and resurfaces skin for a smoother and brighter looking complexion and a Virgin Marula Oil that is a cold-pressed oil that hydrates and calms the skin. I have enjoyed using this duo as well as it feels light on the skin and doesn’t feel greasy. Since I’ve been using the morning and Evening duo together religiously to see optimal results, I feel both have suited my skin type. My skin feels and look better. My open pores seem to have reduced and acne breakouts and dull skin has also improved significantly.

L'oreal Paris Revitalift Filler: 7 Day Intensive Treatment Replumping Ampoules

Since I suffer from de-hydrated skin that always looks tired, I wanted to try this out as its pure Hyaluronic serum concentrate that Is supposed to hydrate your skin and make it look plumper and firmer. Although it says it’s for 40+, I still went ahead to try it. After every use, I instantly saw a difference and my skin did feel more supple. The ampoules are of a serum consistently and absorb instantly as you pat your face with these. After about one week my skin had improved, was looking fresher and felt firmer. However, after stopping use of this product my skin went back to its normal self so I may be stocking up on these!
