Popular Easter Candies in History!

Happy Easter, everyone!

Today we will take a trip down memory lane and revisit all the Easter candies from the 1800s to present in order to commemorate this special day, since we cannot celebrate together in person, we will celebrate virtually - with some sweets for the eyes!

Exchanging chocolates and other sweets at Easter gained popularity in Europe during the mid-19th century and here we see just what were the popular treats for children - and still are!

Here goes:

The 1850s saw the chocolate bunny immigrate from Germany courtesy of Whitman's!

The 1930s saw the emergence of jelly beans!

1953 brought in what is now a cult favourite: marshmallows!

Creme eggs came in the early 60s - not our favourite but everyone else we know loves them!

And then the whole chocolate world took over, with M&Ms doing special prints of easter ducks and bunnies on their sweets and then a plethora of homemade chocolate recipes came about!

We hope you enjoyed this!
