Ahsan Khan urges people to spare the cast of Dirilis Ertugrul!

Turkish historical series 'Dirilis Ertugrul' has become a hit in Pakistan after the show aired on state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) with Urdu dubbing. And now, the show's YouTube channel is set to break a record for most new subscribers in a month. at the behest of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The Turkish actor, who plays Halime Sultan in the popular drama series Dirilis Ertugrul which has gained major attraction here in Pakistan as the fan’s obsession with the show’s actors seems to have taken a flight for the worse. The backlash and trolling to the leading cast of turkish drama series Dirilis Ertugrul didn’t go unnoticed by Pakistani actor Ahsan Khan. He urges people to spare the cast of Ertugrul and also schooled the trollers and called their act shameful.

On twitter he wrote, “I know people in Pakistan think it’s ok to troll actors here and judge them, at least spare the cast of Ertugrul. It’s shameful, What’s going on! Who are we to do this to them?”

Here are screenshots from Instagram profile of the actor Esra Bilgiç who plays Halima Sultan in the drama Dirilis Ertugrul. She posted a picture of her on her Instagram six weeks ago and pakisatani men relentlessly moral police her on her clothing and poses.

And many of them did agree with Ahsan Khan.

Its about time we all took a moment for a little self-reflection and get rid of our sense of entitlement.
