PIA Enforces Stricter Procedures
With current safety protocol being diligently followed, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has enforced a new procedure before boarding flights,
The flight cabin and crew will be checked for any intoxicants present via a 'breath analyser' - which is used for alcohol testing. This new notice was issued on Tuesday the 28th of April and will apply for both Local and International flights.
The tests will be performed by a medical officer or flight surgeon before the crew boards any plane/flight, to ensure that there is no partaking in the consumption of drugs or alcohol by any in-flight members to make sure there is maximum safety when travelling.
The announcement for conducting tests comes after the PCAA discovered traces of smoking in the cockpit and cabin. Under the guidelines of both the International Civil Aviation Organisation and the International Aviatian Safety Assessment, the rules are in line with what the Civil Aviation Authority have advised previously.
We hope these protocols reassure those of how the Airlines are strictly and seriously following any protocol measures to procure absolute safety.
