Investors Interested in Pakistan's Digital City
An official from the Khyber Pakthunkhwa Information Technology Board has disclosed that Pakistan's first ever Digital City is currently in its planning phase in Haripur, north of Islamabad.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board spokesperson, Danish, has stated that hi-tech Chinese companies such as 'Haier' and 'Oppo' have expressed their interest in investing in the development of Pakistan Digital City. The spokesperson also shared that National Engineering Services of Pakistan (NESPAK) is responsible for the planning and development of the project which is in its first stage and the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) will be continuing on as a key partner.
The Digital City initiative in KP is said to be the hub of technology and innovative ideas, creating not only a platform for international relations but a promising salvation to unemployment, as it will provide approximately 30,000 jobs in the sector as well.
“The master planning and designing will be finalized by the end of October this year,” Zahoor Shah Marwat of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board told the publication.
Potential investors, software manufacturers, technological incubators and many more will be invited to establish and set up their necessary facilities. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the future of digital progress and innovation in Pakistan, putting it on an international platform for its technological initiative.
