Maria B. Signs MOU with Child Protection & Welfare Bureau Lahore

On the 3rd of November, 2020, esteemed fashion designer Maria B. signed a memorandum of understanding with the Child Protection Bureau & Welfare in Lahore. The designer is focusing on helping marginalised communities in society by using her organisation, 'Mara.B. Cares' as a platform to spread awareness and help out.

Maria.B. Cares is a wonderful social initiative which concerns itself with bettering the country in any which way it can, which includes working together for the environment, with the The Miyawaki Forest inauguration at the Lahore Railway Station, planting 5000 native trees, and now conscientiously focusing on who the declining economy has affected the most.

The MOU states that the renowned designer has signed on for 3 social responsibility projects over the coming year. This includes hosting 12 interns at the Bureau at the factory for a year's vocational training, where they will also learn the skills of dying, stitching and embroidery; as well as sponsoring an IT Lab for the CPWB's Faisalabad School. Maria B cares will also be providing furniture for the Bureau's Rahim Yar Khan, with interns being given a monthly stipend for support.

The Chairman of the Bureau, Sarah Ahmed, thanked Maria B for her support which was urgently needed. Speaking about her involvement with the CPWB, Maria B expressed her excitement at being able to help serve the cause,

“The special initiative not only aims to assist CPWB and motivate these individuals to be productive citizens of society but also help the dying craft, as they will receive training in Aari Embroidery that is a dying Pakistani craft with very few professional craftsmen available. This kind of skillset will prove to be quite lucrative for these trainees in the future.”

Maria. B and her efforts in giving back to Pakistan through her social welfare activism and consistent campaigns have bore fruit, with organisations in need being able to get the sponsorship they need. Through her product line and merchandise, the renowned designer has also brought honour to Paksitan both nationally and internationally, as we await more heartwarming news.
