Here's What We Know About The Legend of Maula Jatt So Far

After what seems like years, The Legend of Maula Jatt's trailer finally dropped yesterday . It gave us a peek into just how grand Pakistani story telling can be. And it doesn't always have to be a rom-com.

Here's what we know about the movie so far

• The Legend of Maula Jatt has been ten years in the making, mostly dueto copyright issues.
• It is the remake of a 1979 movie by Yunus Malik. That's what led the copyright issues. The original starred the legendary Sultan Rahi, Mustafa Qureshi and Aasia in the lead roles.

• The reboot stars Fawad Khan in the title role and Hamza Ali Abbasi as his arch-nemesis, Noori Natt.
• Mahira Khan plays Makhoo Jatti, Maula Jatt's love interest.
• Gohar Rasheed and Humaima Mallick are also in prominent roles on the 'Natt' side of the warring clans.
• The movie is completely in the Punjabi language.
• It is rumored to be the most expensive Pakistani movie to date.
• It is directed by Bilal Lashari, who also directed War. It is produced by Ammara Hikmat and Dr. Asad Jamil Khan with music by Sarmad Ghafoor.
• The movie is now set for release on 13th October 2022.
