Pakistan Set to Resume International Flights

Pakistan is allowing international flights to resume as the country's coronavirus pandemic is on the decline.

Edition Pakistan · 8 August 2020

At the press conference held with the National Coordination Committee last week, Minister for Special Initiatives and Development, Asad Umar, had announced that the country would be opening restaurants, beauty salons and generally graduating from the ‘new normal’ during dire times of Covid 19.

With cases on the decline, it comes as no surprise that Pakistan is resuming international flights and departures once more from Sunday the 9th of August. According to Aviation Authorities, the Government has given flight operations, both domestic and international, the green-light.

“The government has allowed all types of International and Domestic
Flight Operations to/ from all airports across Pakistan as per
authorization granted to all foreign and domestic operators
PRE-COVID-I9 Summer schedule 2020, including cargo and special flight
operations with effect from Aug. 9,”

Spokesperson for the Aviation Division, Abdul Sattar Khokhar disclosed on Friday that the Government sanctioned the re-opening and permission for Pakistan to resume all international and domestic flights, strictly in line with Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines proposed by the Civil Aviation Authority.
