What a week it’s been! Is it just me or is everyone super busy?
One thing is for certain, the third wave of CoVID19 is certainly upon us and we need to start reverting to the ‘old’ new, normal – mask up, distance and sanitize – and definitely avoid large gatherings. Nonetheless, we do still have the weekend to enjoy (and enjoy we must!).
Eat:
Even though,I am not much of a sweet tooth, I do appreciate a good, gooey, crackled brownie. The Toffee Brownie from Pie in the Sky has always been my go to on days of despair but I think I have a new favorite – Homemade Wholesome.
I got an Assorted Box – 2 Classic, 2 Chocolate Chip and 2 Nutella Brownies. Given the size and richness of the brownies, I would say this is a steal for Rs 750. The texture is soft with the perfect amount of bite or chewiness that lets your palette interact with the flavors before it goes down. It’s also not too sweet, and there is a gentle hint of saltiness, which I love. Safe to say that these are my favorite brownies of the season!
Do:
Watch ‘New Amsterdam.’ A 2018, medical drama on NBC, it is now on Netflix. The basic plot is that of a new medical director who takes over a public hospital and hopes to run it with more heart. It is based on the book Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital by Eric Manheimer. So far, I like it for it’s happy ending episodes. Ryan Eggold as the doctor at the helm of the hospital makes for some soothing viewing, as does Jocko Sims as the heart doctor (for good reason!)

This week we are still on the home-spa routine. Given my dyed hair, the right conditioning has always been a challenge for me and I generally avoid hair oils because they are such a chore to wash out.
Last week I tried out this oil blend from Hair & Locs. It comes in an easy-to-use pump bottle and is a blend of oils including coconut oil and is enriched with nigella seeds (kalonji). I mostly love this oil because it is easy to wash out and I can already see a difference in my scalp and strands. A 120 ml bottle costs Rs 550 and should last you about 3 months if you use it twice a week. Remember to follow the instructions on the label!
