Mulsical stalwarts Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Sahir Ali Bagga have joined forces for ‘Murshed Ji’ the latest song to drop from the original sound track from Shaan’s highly anticipated telling of Bollywood film Arth.
The video of the contemporary rock number with Sufi lyrics is reminiscent of early Junoon with Shaan pouring his soul into a mic decorated with multiple scarves ala Ali Azmat/ Steven Tyler. He is joined on stage by ace keyboard player Immu, a group of whirling dervishes and Rahat Fateh Al Khan himself.
“The song itself grips the gist of the film, themed on the holy connection a person feels for his Creator,” according to the actor.
Arth is the story of two women played by Uzma Hassan and Humaima Malick who must make difficult decisions and how these choices impacts their lives evolve. The film will release worldwide in cinemas on December 21st, 2017,
