The owners of Cannoli by Cafe Soul in Islamabad have come under scrutiny for their arrogant behaviour and distasteful comments as they humiliated and mocked their manager, Awais, for his ‘bad english’. Uzma and Diya, ridiculed their manager, making him introduce himself on camera, which he did, yet the two were not satisfied, berating him further.
“So, this is our manager who has been with us for nine years. And this
is the beautiful English he speaks. This is what we paid for, and a
very good salary, mind you,”
Since its inception the video has gone viral across the nation, with people incredibly enraged at the cruelty and mistreatment of staff members by ‘ignorant’ restaurant owners. Many have stated that living in Pakistan, Urdu is officially the first language, yet, these women seem to think western culture is the ‘norm’.
Celebrities such as Mashal Khan, Anam Tanveer, Ahsan Khan, Emraan Rajput and more, have called out these Cannoli owners as a movement to boycott them has started on social media platforms.
Not only was this video disturbing to watch for many, but its reach has gotten to a point where the public refuses to tolerate. Cannoli issued an apology of sorts, which failed to appease the situation as it turned off reviews and comments.
