Day 1 of PSFW15 summed up as follows:
Fahad Hussayn’s “Democrats” collection was a fusion of novelty, power and individuality. The collection consisted of black, white, navy and beige ensembles along with some asexual prints in signature Fahad Hussayn silhouettes.
Rating: 8 out of 10
Our favorite looks from the Democrats collection are as follows:
“Modern Mughal” collection by Misha Lakhani was a very understated affair, with use of solid colors on silken canvases. Ranging from white to beige to champagne pink, and a few pieces in brighter colors, the collection did not do exceptionally well in our eyes.
Rating: 5 out of 10
Our favorite looks from the Modern Mughal collection are as follows:
“Zambezi” collection by Zonia Anwaar was a tribute to African mystery and rituals. White, black, brown ensembles in tapered silhouettes and shorter hemlines infused with contemporary abstract Kenyan patterns and prints, this collection did not disappoint.
Rating: 7 out of 10
Our favorite looks from the Zambezi collection are as follows:
There are very few local designers who do inspiration the correct way, and Natasha Kamal is one of them. Their debut ramp collection titled “Le Nouvel Esprit” was an indication of the designer’s talent as every silhouette was flawlessly done. The collection strikes us as a fresh perspective for Pakistani runways, consisting of pieces made in silk, chiffon, net and organza, the detailing was exquisite and the palette ranged from neutral tones such as white, cream and gold to bold colors such as bordeaux and midnight blue.
Rating: 9 out of 10
Our favorite looks from the Le Nouvel Esprit collection are as follows:
“Chambeli” by Nickie Nina was a monochromatic fashion spree that was just as brilliant as all of the collections to come from the fabulous designer duo before. Consisting of sheer silhouettes in organza and net, with detailed handwork and embellishments, the collection truly shone. We loved the pop of color added via handbags and clutches.
Rating: 9 out of 10
Our favorite looks from the Chambeli collection are as follows:
