Drinking milk is good for your skin (but you already knew that). Too often we avoid consuming milk regularly because we are suspicious of how the healthy it really is for us. We may purchase expensive tonics and serums to achieve glowing skin but nothing shines like health.
We were reminded of this at an awareness program held by Grow Healthy Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan Dairy Association. If you’ve been concerned about unclean milk then UHT milk is the solution.
UHT stands for Ultra High-Temperature Pasteurization and means that milk is heated to about 280 degrees F for 2 seconds, which kills more bacteria than traditional pasteurization therefore giving the milk a much longer shelf life before it spoils.
We all know that dairy is an essential food group but if that is not enough to convince you milk also contains amino acids which keep your skin moisturized and hydrated. Milk is full of numerous nutrients, which help the skin to appear its best. You can enhance the moisture level of your skin by consuming milk daily.
Modern labs with broad testing capabilities and experts continuously check milk quality from the point of collection to the point of sale. Packaged milk is fully traceable and it’s quality can be verified at any time by regulatory authorities as is now being done by the PFA on a regular basis.
Loose milk undergoes none or very few testing procedures and in most cases the milk cannot be traced to the producer.
Many people are also not aware that the common practice of boiling loose milk over several minutes at home to kill the bacteria, most nutrients are destroyed which compromises the health benefits of milk. Since long life milk has already gone through a controlled boiling process, there is no need to do this, so this milk is very safe and most healthy.
