The day many die-hard football fans were waiting for finally arrived as the FIFA World Cup trophy touched down in Lahore on a special flight from Thailand. The excitement was tangible as the this was first time Pakistan has been on the Coca-Cola’s Trophy Tour. The tour is a chance for football fans to see the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy  in their own countries and get ready for the excitement for the upcoming world cup.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy arrived in Lahore on the morning of February 3rd, where the prize was unveiled. Present at the occasion were Rizwan U. Khan, General Manager Coca-Cola Pakistan, cricketer Younis Khan, Pakistan Women Football Team captain Hajra Khan, Coke Studio artists Momina Mustehsan and Quratulain Balouch, celebrities Maya Ali and Zainab Abbas who were on board on the flight from Thailand.

“Bringing the FIFA World Cup Trophy to Pakistan is just the start,” said Rizwan U. Khan, General Manager Coca-Cola Pakistan “Coca-Cola Pakistan is making. Plans are already underway for launching a nationwide, grassroots level football promotion campaign, and in the coming weeks you will certainly hear or read about these!”

According to Kaleemullah, the current captain of Pakistan’s national football team “Events like this are crucial for bolstering the budding talent in our country and will surely hearten many football enthusiasts and young, aspiring players who want to play football in future.”

The CokeFest, held at Lake City Lahore later in the day, was attended by thousands of football enthusiasts, who were given the unique opportunity of sharing a fan moment with the legendary trophy.
